New Project Coming Together

My mom flew in from Texas to spend the Christmas holidays with us. I'm taking her for two nights to the Outer Banks to tour some of the most spectacular lighthouses on the East Coast seaboard.

A big two-book project for an author is slowly wrapping up just in time for a January 2018 release date. Proofs came in yesterday, I got with him and reevaluated the covers, we made a few tweaks, and it's off for another proof copy. It's got to be perfect!

Christmas is less than a week away, and the whole city seethes with anticipation.

Yesterday, on the way from the airport, we stopped at the North Carolina capitol building in Raleigh. It dates from circa 1840 and is unmolested in its nearly two-hundred-year-old glory. It's mostly a museum structure now, and you can wander through all three floors. Being the holidays, it was decked out for Christmas. You can see my mom in front of one of the trees.

We'll be back on Saturday for Christmas Eve services on Sunday, then our family Christmas on Monday.

Merry Christmas to all, as I'll be climbing lighthouses between now and then!
