Elevator Glitch

It seems winter can brush her frigid fingers along the East Coast after all.

After yesterday's morning fog and afternoon sunshine, with temperatures pushing 80, rain blew in during the night, and our temperatures will continue to fall throughout the day.

We've got a cold spell coming our way, with eventual lows forecast in the low 20's over the next week and highs not much over that.

It's a good opportunity to sit at my computer and write of warmer climes and sunny excursions to the outdoors!

My writing prompt today was, "I hadn't seen the door before. It wasn't there yesterday."

It's easy to make unusual writing prompts all sci-fi and speculative fiction, fill the stories with fantasy elements, and be done with it. I wanted this one to be something more realistic, ordinary, even.

What if you work in an office building, and you accidentally get off on the wrong floor? Is it possible to be so clueless you don't notice? In Elevator Glitch, Roger finds his surroundings confusing, but he's not a slacker, so he gets on with the job.

Even if it's not the job he's assigned to do!
