Supermoon and More
The only supermoon of 2017 graced the U.S. this past weekend (and it wasn't too shabby last night, either). Then this morning, heavy fog blanketed the area where I live.
It felt like magic.
Being early December, houses have Christmas lights on display, and we have neighbors that let them run all night (as do ours). Seeing them first thing in the morning through the fog makes them glow with an ethereal beauty. The fog also shifts your perspective. Things seem closer (or farther away) when the fog rolls in.
That put me in mind for this morning's story prompt for The Electric Minute, Volume 2. What would happen if a building in the center of a city didn't like where it was located?
My story prompt started, "It moved, and that startled me." I had to plan a way to get the building across the city. How quickly can a building move? What about the things in the way, such as sidewalks, city streets, and other buildings? How would people react to the moving building, or would they be so busy they wouldn't notice?
One man in my story does, and he relates what he sees, even if he doesn't believe it at first.
What a fun tale to write in only 1000 words!
